In Fall 2023 three small, Albany Park businesses met over Instagram; to brainstorm a neighborhood holiday event with the intention to unite business owners, community and neighbors. Together they created the first “Albany Park Sip, Shop, Trolley Hop”. The success of the event proved they made a great team and they wanted to continue to w
In Fall 2023 three small, Albany Park businesses met over Instagram; to brainstorm a neighborhood holiday event with the intention to unite business owners, community and neighbors. Together they created the first “Albany Park Sip, Shop, Trolley Hop”. The success of the event proved they made a great team and they wanted to continue to work towards amplifying the colorful neighborhood that is Albany Park.
Soon brainstorming sessions would take place and their mission would be clear. They wanted to form a collective that was diverse, inclusive and celebrated not only the migrant history of the neighborhood but also created new opportunities for the present and future. Over coffee, at a local plant cafe, they officially formed —YAPN: Your Albany Park Neighbors.
YAPN wants to share the magic found in the diverse community that is Albany Park and unite a neighborhood composed of residents and businesses. A group that sees the beauty and the serious need for services, beautification, and inclusivity. A group that is a true collective and gives the effort and support that all of Albany Park deserves!
